In 2022, Deshaun Watson (quarterback for the Cleveland Browns) was accused of the sexual assault of many massage therapists. At that time, AMTA was holding their annual convention in Cleveland right before the football season was to begin, yet they failed to address the issue in any way.
A group of us from across the country got together and disscussed forming a group of some sort to help untangle massage from sex work and to call out cases like this.

Over the course of two years, I read, watched and learned as much as I could about the whole issue and created a toolkit for massage therapists to share what I know.
